Al-Azhar Graduates Condemns the Terrorist in Nigeria

The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates condemned theterrorist incident that took place in Nigeria, on Wednesday, in which tenNigerian soldiers were killed and another was taken hostage, during clasheswith gunmen in Borno state, northeastern Nigeria.

The Organization said in a statement that Islamic Shari’ahhas menaced whoever terrifies and shed the blood of the innocents with a severepunishment in life and afterlife, as those terrorist defy Allah Almighty andHis Prophet (PBUH); Allah Almighty says: (The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger andstrive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed orcrucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will beexpelled out of the land. ۚSuch will be their degradation in the world, ۖandin the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom.[Q. 5: 33].

The statement highlighted that whoever gives shelter orprotects the terrorists, he/she shall be deemed as a partner in their heinouscrimes, as Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: “Allah curses the one who gives refugeto an offender". [Narrated by Muslim]

The organization called on the international community tojoin hands to eliminate terrorism, as this became a humanitarian obligation, inaddition to being a religious and political obligation.

At the end of the statement, the Organization extended itscondolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for theinjured, praying to spare the whole world the flames of intolerance, extremism,and terrorism
