The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates condemned in a statement the terrorist attack carried out by unidentified armed men on the national defense and security forces and the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic, killing 3 Burundian soldiers and injuring 2 others.
The Organization said that targeting and terrorizing peaceful people are criminal acts that contradict Islam and all religions. As Allah said in the Holy Quran: “Whoever slays a soul for other than a soul, or for corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether." [Q. 5: 32].
Furthermore, the statement added that shedding the blood of innocent people is one of the grievous sins that necessitates hatred of Allah; Islam protects the lives of all people.
The statement stressed that it is necessary to firmly confront terrorism, as it is a deadly scourge that destroys societies. Moreover, it aims to destabilize countries and harm people everywhere.
