The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates condemned the terrorist attack carried out by Boko Haram on a village in Nigeria, killing at least 11 persons.
The Organization said in a statement that the Organization stressed that targeting the places of worship and killing innocent people are sinful criminal acts that contradict the teachings of Islam and the teachings of all religions as well. Allah Almighty said: "Whoever slays a soul for other than a soul, or for corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether." [Q. 5: 32]. Also, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said: “He is not one of us who shows no mercy to younger ones”  [Narrated by Abu Dawud]
The Organization stressed that terrorism does not respect the sanctity of religions or homelands aiming to destabilize countries and harm people.
The statement added that shedding the blood of innocent people is one of the grievous sins that necessitates hatred of Allah; and Islam protects the lives of all people, as Allah said in the Holy Quran: “And slay not the soul God has forbidden, except by right.” [Q. 6: 151].
At the end of the statement, the Organization extended its condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, praying to spare the whole world the flames of intolerance, extremism, and terrorism.
