The World Organization for al-Azhar Graduates WAAG has followed what international and local press agencies reported on the death of the alleged leader of ISIS "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi".
The Organization asserted in a statement that this must have been the dreadful fate of this criminal as a result of terrorizing the peaceful population, killing Muslims and aggression on vulnerable men, women, and children. It has repeatedly emphasized by scholars "Whoever kills, will be killed, even after a while".
The Organization pointed out in its statement that ISIS and terrorist groups like it committed the cruelest crimes and one of the greatest sins, namely killing the human soul. Allah said, "And that you slay not the soul God has forbidden" [Q. 6:151] Allah said also, "who call not upon another god with God, nor slay the soul God has forbidden except by right, neither fornicate, for whosoever does that shall meet the price* of sin-doubled shall be the chastisement for him on the Resurrection Day, and he shall dwell therein humbled* save him who repents, and believes, and does righteous work -- those, God will change their evil deeds into good deeds, for God is ever All-forgiving, All-compassionate"[Q. 25:68-70] Furthermore, the Prophet (PBUH) said, "Avoid the seven destructive things. It was asked (by those present), what are they, o messenger of Allah? He replied, associating anyone or anything with Allah in worship; practicing sorcery, killing of someone without a just cause whom Allah has forbidden, devouring the property of an orphan, eating of usury, fleeing from the battlefield and slandering chaste women who never even think of anything chastity and are good believers." [By Bukhari and Muslim] The Prophet said also, "The first matter concerning which scores will be settled among the people on the Day of Resurrection will be bloodshed." [By Bukhari and Muslim] Moreover, he said, "One of the evil deeds with bad consequences from which there is no escape for the one who is involved in it is to kill someone unlawfully." [By Bukhari] It is worth mentioning that there are many other known texts that prohibit harming or assault on the human soul.
The Organization added in its statement: "despite the claims of al-Baghdadi and his terrorist group, that they are the victorious ones, their destiny was either the prison or murder or expulsion. Indeed, it was Allah Almighty who brought the utter defeat upon such heinous group in every battlefield; now, the time has come to expose the infamous truth of those who globally defamed the tolerant image of Islam, in front of all Muslims worldwide. As a matter of fact, these malicious groups intended to obliterate the true essence of Islam that calls for mercy, peace and security for all people, and introduced Islam as a religion of slaughter, murder, and assault; Naim ibn Hammad narrated in his book "Kitab al-Fitan" (573) that Ali Ibn Abi Talib said: "When you see the black flags, remain where you are and do not move your hands or your feet. Thereafter there shall appear a feeble insignificant folk. Their hearts will be like rods of iron. They will have the state. They will fulfill neither covenant nor agreement. They will call to the truth, but they will not be people of the truth. Their names will be parental attributions, and their aliases will be derived from towns. Their hair will be free-flowing like that of women. This situation will remain until they differ among themselves. Thereafter, Allah will bring forth the Truth through whomever He wills".
The Organization underlined in its statement the necessity of challenging the terrorist elements and groups with power and firmness, stressing the inviolability of hiding, covering up and supporting those vile terrorists, otherwise he/she will be their partners in their crimes, as Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: "Allah curses the one who gives refuge to an offender" [By Muslim]. Hence, anyone who comes to know anything about a group of terrorists either their hiding places or identities, it is his/her duty then to inform the authorities, in order to prevent the bloodshed of Muslims and to protect their homelands.
The Organization concluded its statement by warning the Muslim youth worldwide against getting attracted to these criminal groups or deceived by their false interpretation of Quran and Sunnah texts, stressing that serving Islam shall be by gaining knowledge and working, not by killing and destruction.
